4-24-2010  BBB tourney on Winneconne, Wolf river system. During my pre-fish on Thursday the boat came down with an electricial problem which still has not been fixed. the big motor quites in rough water, runs great in calm conditions. Because of this problem we stayed close to the weigh-in site and hoped for a miricle, was not very happy that I could not fish my spots for the tourney. We managed to put about 20 keepers in the boat, but all the wrong size, as we weighed 12 pounds and it took 17.15 to win the tourney. This was the worst finish I have ever had on the Winnebago system. The wind blew all day and the rain came and went every couple hours or so. If the boat is not fixed before the 1st I will not be fishing my next tournament. We pitched jigs all day to catch our 12 pound limit. 6-5-2010 Minnetonka Classic on Lake Minnetonka, Gary Adkins and I fished this last year with a 13th place finish out of 137 boats. I am looking forward to going back to Minnesota for this great tournament. We had a blast all week fishing on Minnetonka, catching more than a hundred bass 3 days in a row, including the day of the tournament. Problem was we could not put the 4 pounders in the boat, we managed 19.46 pounds, 36 place out of 102 boats, just 1 pound out of the money and only 5 pounds out of first. The lake fished totally different this year than it did last year, which means we will be prepared for both situations come next years tourney. We caught most of our fish with 2 presentations that have become a big part of our fishing, and at this time I would like to keep those to myself as not many have caught on to this as of yet, I just wish a few 4 pounders would have taken the bait. We caught the majority of our fish in water less than 6 feet deep, as we could not find a deep fish pattern all week, and it sounds as if it was the same for the other anglers. I really enjoy Lake Minnetonka, their are so many fish in the lake, and the Bluegills are crazy thick. Can't wait till next year as well will be bring the ladies with us for a little time on the water, but not to much as Gary and I will be looking for a better finish than we had this year.
